In reading y’alls teasing about matching your kiddoes up, I’m reminded of when Dannye was a toddler. My best friend had a son one month younger than Nathanael, and we always said they were going to marry when they grew up. I don’t know if they do this all over, but in the South, highschool football is HUGE, and homecoming is the biggest game of the season! The guys buy these outrageously big corsages of mums, with streamers and glitter and little football themed ornaments. The couple’s names are on the streamers, and there are usually little cowbells, etc. It sounds very gauche, I know, but in Texas, the bigger the mum, the more your boyfriend likes you!! Well, when Dannye was about 2 years old, my friend made her a mum , and she went on her first “date” to our highschool homecoming football game. I still have her little mum, which is the only thing left of our dream match! We did have fun with it, though!!

My baby is 16 months and has gone through a huge growth spurt lately… and is starting to have enough hair that I can put in a small pony tail in like Reese’s- and some curls in the back. She’s starting to talk a little more (her current favorite word is cookie) and I look at her and wonder when she got so big!
