  • {this morning}

    the view driving kate to school

    sunrise

    and these words playing out over the radio..

    He is jealous for me.
    loves like a hurricane, I am a tree
    b
    ending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy

    When all of a sudden
    I am unaware of these afflictions
    eclipsed by glory
    and I realize just how beautiful You are
    and how great Your affections are for me

    And, oh, how He loves us
    Oh, how He loves us
    how He loves us all..
    Yeah, He loves us
    Oh, how He loves us
    Oh, how He loves us

    Oh. how He loves.

    to listen to the song, go here

    and i love how many times the word love is used in the chorus..
    i think His love is just like that. over and over. and in a thousand ways.
    said again and again to us.

    except unlike the song, there’s no end!

    he loves me
    hee hee..  an old picture that makes me smile

    “But I trust in your unfailing love and my heart rejoices in your salvation.” ps 13:5

  • Happy Monday to you, Amber! I really enjoy two songs right now, East to West by Casting Crowns and Come Thou Fount, the Jadon Lavik version.

  • i know that song…awesome words. even more awesomeness…HIS love.

    my fav song about that goes way way back. i think it’s number 82 in the hymnal back home. :) and funny thing is…it was myron’s favorite too. before we ever crossed paths! the title is “the love of God” and verse two was one of the best parts.

    “could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made. were every stalk on earth a quill. and every man, a scribe by trade. to write the love of God above, would drain the ocean’s dry. and would the scrolls contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky? the love of God! how rich and pure. how measureless and strong. it shall forever more endure…”

    i couldn’t recite it…but i could sit here singing it! :) sweet happy monday to you too. <3

  • Thanks Amber! You are always so full of hope and encouragement! I so appreciate you sharing it with those of us who lack it so badly :)
    One of my favorite songs is Blessings by Laura Story. Helps me get a grasp that God’s love for me is not always what I think it should be but rather what He knows is best from me.
    Happy Monday!

  • I have been reminded again and again in my heart recently of His great love beyond our very comprehension and I just feel so unworthy. He envelops us in this perfect love, and showers it down on us day after day. ♥ It makes my mind spin!

  •  i absolutely love “White Flag” by ???? can’t think right now….and “10,000 Reasons” by matt redman and this awesome song about forgiveness, but the title eludes me just now. Songs speak to me so many times and I love worship…..church, home, true women ’12, you name it!;)

  • Draw Me Lord…Selah. That’s what’s been in my head today. =)
    LOVE that picture of Emma in her pigtails…so sweet.

    Happy Monday.

  • This was the Bible verse my Sunday School teacher wrote in the flyleaf of my Bible when I first became a Christian. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 His love is so amazing!

  • God blessed you this morning! I rarely see the sunrise! My favorite song now, as of today, is Jadon Lavik’s version of I Surrender All! Hearing that today, WHEN i heard it today, was perfect timing. Then later, came the encouragements from you and a few of my other favorite people!!! <3

  • One of my favorites on the love of God is How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.  We love to sing it together and hearing all 4 parts from us makes me happy.  I also love the one Cindy quoted….those words give me a happy feeling down my spine.

    Happy Tuesday to you in Ontario.

  • Beautiful, beautiful… I don’t have any verses to share… I don’t feel love right now because I’m in a really painful time. I’m tired of these years that keep holding so much pain and I ask God, when is enough enough? Am I missing something? Am I just not accepting your love for me? Am I trying too hard on my own strength? Maybe there’s a yes answer all of the above… but lately I am just taking one day at a time… with a seed of hope in my heart. Love your words. always. I haven’t been on xanaga in weeks and I missed your blog a lot.

  • I love that song, and the story behind it. Thanks for such a beautiful post.

  • Beautiful post!

  • What a beautiful sunrise on a Monday to cheer you up. Reminds me of what heaven might be like only probably 100x times prettier which is hard to comprehend

  • one thing remains by kristian stanfill … its the one that sings over & over ‘your love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me …’
    and hello again : )
    i don’t know where i’ve been … i totally missed the great contest … now i want an entirely new wardrobe …. reese & the bra, awesome! … the verses about david, very good …. the pumpkin soup, yum …. the blog links, i’m gonna go back & read … i like flowerpatchfarm girl, i haven’t read her in awhile …. love your fall pictures …. love your blog, your writing & you.
    and now i’ll stop the run on sentence with all the dots …. :)

  • @aSeriesofFortunateEvents - one of my fav songs too! casting crowns writes some of the beSt songs out there

    @down_onthefarm - love that one too! my brother scott used to sing it in church alot~ this rich baritone voice. i can hear him now and i get a little chokey thinking of it.

    @Cluesy - oh, YES!! that song is incredible. the words are just so REAL. love that one. and thank you for saying i’m full of hope.. after feeling the past few years have been surrounded by alot of darkness and just so many times of “hopelessness” that means so much to realize the work God has done in me. to “give others hope” is certainly one of those things i want to make a goal in my life and strive to do~ anyway. just trying to say that was sweet of you to say! :)

  • @onehappymomma - so true, eli. and it makes my head spin too. can’t quite comprehend love like that! but so grateful for it. :)

    @lwstutz - yes, YES!! those are two of my favorite songs. our youth group sings, “white flag” alot and i love seeing all those teenagers singing that song with such conviction and sincerity. the worship at true woman was SO incredible! that first night when we just sang and prayed together in groups.. awh. i still think of it and get chills.

    @Elizabethmarie_1 - sweet song. haven’t heard it in forever, but love anything by selah!

  • @mymomentsandmeanderings - that verse has got to be one of my favorites. His love IS amazing!!

    @Richgem - i rarely see the sunrise either. that’s probably why i was in such awe! ;) i love those days when God reminds me of His love from all directions~ i know those reminders are always there.. sometimes, i’m just not as aware of them!!

    @quiet_hearts - mm…i’m loving hearing everyone’s songs and verses!! i hadn’t had a chance to read through these comments really until tonight and it’s just blessing me with His love, just like i felt on monday! that song is one of my favorites too. the words are so rich with meaning, and i love the tune!

  • @MartinTreehouse - aw. sweet girl. you’re so not alone in those feelings. i’ve doubted His love so many {many many} times. i think it’s hardest to “feel” His love when things aren’t good.. when you’re walking through rough times and nothing seems to go as you thought it would. you said something key though – - “seed of hope” and to me, that’s the answer right there. holding onto that. as tiny as it may be. because when we lose hope, we’ve lost sight of God. and even though we might not always FEEL His love.. it is that hope in our heart that keeps us believing He is who He says He is and we can trust, regardless of our feelings. i remember this past year, of coming to a place where i felt i had lost hope.. and it was truly the darkest time of my life. i never want to be in that place again. and though some days i feel i have to “fight” to hang on to it.. still, it’s there. i just love your heart, girl. your raw honesty. don’t give up! you’re doing so much better than you probably think you are!! big hug. :)

    @mountain girl - thank you! :)

    @jennifer - thanks! :)

  • @redladybug18 - i know! every time i see a sky like that i think.. “is that what it’s going to look like when the Lord comes back?” and heaven. oh, yes!! can you imagine the beauty! wonder if we’ll have camera’s in heaven!! ;) )

    @H0LDfast - i LOVE your run-on sentences. and YOU!! you’re just my kind of girl! :) ))
