{the whole picture}
wednesday i posted a picture of our family room.
this was the side you saw…

this was the side you didn’t…

remember mama’s, everything’s not what it appears online.
it’s only PART of the picture!!!
happy 2nd to last weekend before christmas.
now.. i’ve got some laundry to fold!
xo.

haha, guilty here too!!
so true about…pretty much everything. we just see parts.
while your analogy could get really deep…i am laughing as i type. you are just that kind of awesome. xo back.
OHmygoodness! You have a laundry chair (loveseat?) too!
I have a laundry chair that’s just as full, maybe a little more full and it’s the same color! We’re laundry twins.
isn’t that doll a little disturbing in the corner?? every time i look at that pic it creeps me out!!
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents - that’s a laundry COUCH!! a chair or loveseat aren’t big enough!!
) laundry has got to be my least fav chore. yuck! :/
haha! that’s great Amber. You let the cat outta the bag on the media industry. I always find it amazing whenever I’ve been involved in some sort of media production, comparing the behind the scenes with the finished product. Two totally different worlds. We are the masters of perception.
@Hutch5 -
LOL I didn’t even NOTICE the doll. Now I’m a little creeped out too. I can say a quick prayer of thanks I have all boys and we don’t hav ANY dolls at our house.
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents - yes. instead of dolls thrown about in creepy positions you just have legos to step on!
)
@grace_to_be -
Or batman caves to trip over!
LOL. It’s real life at it’s best. It IS good to see the whole picture. To often we compare ourselves to that little piece of perfection when, in reality, we all have those flaw areas. thanks for “the other side of the story”…LOL
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents - oh, yes! forgot about the batman caves!!
@srheam - we’re all guilty of that, i think.. comparing our behind the scenes to everyone elses highlight reel!!
)
This blessed me! I just wish I could find a corner that looks like the first picture!
well as long as you have part of the room in order I think you’re good
My mom’s always trying to get stuff to look like the picture and I’m always the one to remind her, it’s just for the photo
One time when my brother was young my mom was telling him he needed to clean something over again and he said…’so you want it to look like the catalog?’ Those catalog people just don’t have any kids to have fun. What I say is if your house is perfectly cleaned up then that means you must not be having any fun
lol…love you keeping it real
Awe, bless your heart Amber! That’s one thing my husband is good at reminding me when I start the deadly comparison game… it’s not always as it appears online. You’re a dear.
@redladybug18 - so true! your brother’s reminder to your mom sounds like shayne’s reminders to me through the years.. we need those people in our lives!
And now, I love you even more! Thank you for the whole, real picture…and for inspiring me to put more love and effort into my Christmas decorating!
It’s really not that bad, Amber, you can add another couple loads to that before you need to start folding. LOL I love seeing the big pictures, there is MUCH more character to them, right?
LOL, I have a chair that looks like that right now. Usually it’s the couch or my bed, but I actually did get some of it folded and put away. I’ll blame mine on having the grandbabies 2 days this week, but they went home yesterday. How much you wanna bet the chair still looks like that through the weekend???
Yep, got those two drastically different corners here too! Except at the moment it mostly looks like the second picture around here!!
xoxo
Thank you for sharing that! It’s kind of silly that we sometimes try so hard to portray perfection. I love it that you are so real!
@purpleamethyst76 - i actually have been adding to it every day since wed. ha! we have company tomorrow so it’s my project tonight. put in a good christmas movie and go to town.
)
and on a much more serious note than laundry.. i’ve had you on my mind this afternoon. with hearing about the school shooting. don’t know if that’s anywhere near where you are, but still. too close for us all, i think. so sad
@pettybunch - i bet you loved having those grandbabies!! sometimes my kids just lay right in the pile.. like a big bean bag or something!
) have a great weekend, nina. hugs
chuckling here ~
oh good!! i’m not the only one with huge baskets of laundry to do!
You are amazing!!! Really Amaaaaazing!!! I¨d like to send you some goodies from Spain; maybe will be good after hard laundry work…
Bicos and Merry Christmas
if you can’t the worse then you don’t deserve the best haha
It still looks like a warm & comforting home
!
This is just great!
And both corners are beautiful in their own way! The first one because of your lovely creativity, the second because of your lovely life!
This is an awesome post. true for so many of us. I tried to recommend this post but the site didnt seem to let me. Not sure why, but just telling bc I think many people would rec this if they could and you should know that it’s worthy.
Oh it does my heart so much good to see this picture. My couch looks exactly like that right now. I seem to be able to get it washed & dried but the folding…. Not happening. Sometimes I think maybe we have too many clothes! I’m glad I’m not the only one that does that. =)
Oh yes thank you for clearing that up! Phew:)
I’m relieved – YOU have unfolded laundry! Ha. I love that you posted both ‘sides’ of the room.
Sadly I may not even have a good side to post at times, but that also means I have kids who are wearing those trillion clothes. Happy Monday!
Ahhh laundry… it is always there waiting…
I remember seeing this..but never commented.
I love this post. Very clever.
Hope you’re having a splendid time at your Christmas party tonight…wish I could be there!
I love it!! Thanks for posting.
